Minimum of 3
years experience with low voltage data center infrastructure or
structured cabling design and bill of material generation.
Proven understanding of low voltage data center topologies and best practices to optimize power cooling and space.
Good networking and IT equipment knowledge, e.g. server, storage, switching equipment.
+3 years experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software. RevIT experience preferred.
Ability to work with Visio and create Visio shapes.
Understanding of networking, SAN and server products.
Understanding of data center power/cooling and HVAC principles. Experience with software for power and cooling models preferred.
Understanding of TIA and ISO/IEC industry standards.
Understanding of copper and fiber cabling products and performance requirements.
Ability to travel as needed, passport required.
Ability to read, write and converse fluently in the English language.
CDDP or CDCDP (certified data center design) is desired.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop 2D and 3D data center designs and layouts for data center projects based on provided templates and direction provided by Data Center champion
2. As determined by data center champion, assume lead responsibility for complete data center design on smaller projects.
3. Generate Bills of Materials based on design for new, upgrade or retrofit data centers.
4. Perform power, cooling and ROI analysis using available tools.
5. Assist with documentation of links/channels and installation plan.
6. Create product models using RevIT and Visio to be added to shared libraries.
7. Check data center designs - verify quantities, part numbers, and lengths across all specified product lines.
8. Conduct research as requested by Data Center Champions.
9. Assist with Data Center RFI/RFP’s upon request.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform all other job duties as requested.
2. CFD Software training.
