Design Engineer/Piping Engineer
ob Description:
Designation: Design Engineer/Piping Engineer
Job Location: Mangalore
Qualification: Degree Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years experience.
Job Responsibilities:
• --Check and review ITB documents –required only for major and critical static equipment’s
• --Make clarification/deviation lists of ITB documents – Occasionally.
• --Prepare piping stress analysis procedure – Check and review with only codes book
• --Analyze piping stresses for critical lines using CAESAR II etc, to realize stable piping systems occasionally and checking with using codes.
• --Instruct and/or review piping loading data to other disciplines
• --Prepare specifications for piping mechanical supports, such as bellows, spring & snubber, etc. for static equipment’s and its supports
• --Prepare supports package including special supports design
• --Prepare piping stress analysis reports-
• --Check and review vendor documents for piping mechanical supports – for static equipment’s
• --Instruct and coordinate subordinates, such as junior piping stress analysis engineers
• --Coordinate and/or negotiate with clients, vendors and other discipline engineers
• --Plant Inspection such as NDT, Pressure test, Package preparations, Welding Procedure Qualifications, Welder Qualifications
• --Writing and revising inspection test plans, Inspection Procedures, Welding Procedures,
• --Method Statements Implementing necessary corrective actions for NCR, Surveillance etc..
• --External/internal inspection of Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Columns, other equipment’s& piping for condition assessment,
• --PSV testing,
• --Up keeping of equipment records,
• --Corrosion monitoring surveys,
• --Preparing inspection reports, and design reports
• --Co-ordinate inspection activities with operation & maintenance and preparing notifications through SAP system etc.
• --Should be Familiar in Codes & Standards: API –620 &650, API1104, ASME-SEC.I, II, V, VIII, IX, 31.1, 31.3, 31.4, 31.8, ISO –9000, ISO-9001 and AWS D1.1, D1.11 etc.-TEMA for heat exchangers, and ASTM and ANSI std for materials.
• --Check and review the vendor drawings for static equipment’s- design data’s, fabrication details & Material specification for approval.
