Overall Role Description:
A Designer (Mechanical) applies his/her knowledge and experience of computer aided design tools - both 2D and 3D – to deliver quality Mechanical design for successful construction and operation of facilities. The
Designer (Mechanical) also coordinates with other discipline designers to ensure
the quality of total design package while meeting cost and schedule objectives on a
capital project. He/she also provides leadership to junior members of the team and ensures the quality of the work being performed by them.
Key Responsibilities
-Delivering quality Mechanical design on a capital project while meeting cost and schedule objectives.
-Adherence processes and procedures for coordination of design work with other discipline designers.
-converting engineer’s conceptual design into a package of production design deliverables.
Skills Required:
- Diploma in Mechanical engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years work experience in Mechanical Design; preferably, a significant part of this experience using computer aided design tools such as MIcrostation , Auto CAD( least preferred)
- Hands on experience in preparation of following documents
o Pressure vessel drawings
o Heat Exchanger / Column drawing
o Mechanical assembly drawing
o Fabrication drawings including welding and fastening details (Added advantage)
- Knowledge of following standards/areas would be a plus.
- Materials
o ASTM
o ISO
- Design
o ASME Sec VIII Div1/TEMA/API650
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
