Lead Engineer

Experience required for the Job: 5 - 8 years Job Location: Bengaluru/Bangalore There is an immediate opening for the position of Lead Engineer with our client company ,a leading MNC at Bangalore A) Key purpose of the job - To operate & manage a complete Product Engineering cycle encompassing product design conceptualizing, creating & implementing designs, performing design regressions & validations including virtual & physical simulations. The job holder is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Product Engineering B) PROFILE OF THE JOB HOLDER  Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university.  Around 6-6 years experience in Industrial Product Engineering function in a reputed Engineering firm or offshore engineering consulting company.  Exposure to visualization & simulation software packages in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Thermal, Structural, Fatigue & Life estimation is essential pre-requisite.  Hand-on application knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Value Engineering, Dfss tools & techniques is advantageous.  Hand-on knowledge of CAD application Pro/Engineer, Pro/Mechanica  Demonstrated ability to work across cultures with good written & verbal communication skills C. Key responsibilities -  To conceptualize the design: Product ideations, convert customer needs into product concepts, evaluate & select product design using DFM & DFA techniques.  To perform Preliminary Design: Perform feasibility studies, use of APQP - DFM, DFA & DFMEA techniques to optimize and validate designs complimented with use of Value engineering and Virtual simulation.  Perform Detailed Design: Develop detailed design leveraging Product Engineering tools such as modeling, static & dynamic response analysis tools & virtual simulation.  Handling of Engineering Change Notes (ECN) - by validating & documenting changes in drawings & models to assure traceability of changes.  To advice Project Manager through escalation process to manage risks related to Quality of project deliverables. Technical Skills:
* 8+ years of min work experience to max of 12 years
* Strong analytical and problem†solving skills
* Good grasp of Architecture Process, Modelling tools (using UML or other standards), Design Patterns,
Re†factoring and unit testing, Regressions, Code versioning mechanisms.
* Exemplary general IT knowledge (applications development, testing, deployment, operations,
documentation, †standards, best practices, security, hardware, networking, OS, DBMS, middleware, etc.)
* Should always be updated with latest trends and technology and able to adopt them as per the
requirements.
* Participated in the design of applications of medium to large size
* Sound knowledge of deployment architectures with horizontal and vertical scaling alternatives at Web,
Application, Client and Database layers.
* Delivered rich and/or web client applications in a high†availability, clustered environment
* Good understanding of SOA, Web Services
* Experience in SDLC/Agile Methodology.
* 2 to 3 years of experience as Technical Architect and must be part of 4†6 or more LIVE projects since
Inception†to†delivery.
* At least 2†3 bigger projects architecting experience from inception†to†delivery of .NET projects.
* Experience in estimating and measuring project velocity
* Written, verbal, and diagrammatic communication skills
.Net:
* Strong Programming skills in C# and .NET programming languages; OOPs
* Strong database skills preferably in MS SQL 2008
* Should have work experience in .NET related technology (.NET Framework, ASP.Net, Interop, WPF,
Silverlight, Web Services, WCF)
* Experience in IIS, AJAX, XML
* Strong experience on LINQ Queries; system design; hosting techniques, performance issues
troubleshooting & techniques; troubleshooting/plans to overcome concurrency issues
* Experience on SSRS or any other reporting tool
Added advantage:
* Hands†on Entity Framework (added advantage)
* Financial Services Domain (added advantage)
* Experience with Silverlight, 3rd party payment gateways etc
* Experience / Knowledge in Microsoft Tools for .NET Performance Tuning †CLR Profiler/ Application Center

Responsibilities:
* Individual contributor, NO project or people management role
* Emphasis on high level design/architecture/standards but hands on in coding as well
* Able to drive technical direction for the projects assigned in .NET technology independently
* Responsible for the architectural road map for .Net applications for the department
* Review requirements and help in estimating project timelines

* Help other developers on the team by reviewing and recommending more suitable design and
approaches where applicable.
* Helps the team resolve simple to complex technical problems
* Ensure proper source control tool usage for all code modifications. Should be able configure/administer
them; Hands on knowledge / experience in VSTS/TFS.
* Conduct code review and ensure proper coding standards and guidelines are applied
* Ensure code re†use wherever applicable
* Gain technical depth and breadth in technology areas that are relevant to the application development
team
* Bring new product/technology ideas, work on POC
* Coach or Mentor Tech leads, senior team members
